Help in PS - clone tool
 

The following image is spoilt by an inquisitive face (and body) in the upper r/h corner.

Buffers

I am not very proficient in the use of PS, despite subscribing to Digital Photo for the last 4 years and having most of the video lessons. Unfortunately I never have time to look at them.

I can do healing and minor touch ups but any clues on which tools I use to get rid of the figure.

Even better if anyone knows of a good lesson in the DP videos to show me please let me know. In the meantime I will continue to check out some of the lessons to find an answer. This s my Easter project.

Is this what you want, I have just cloned out the person on the right of the photo.

Spot on Christine - I think it's the clone tool you want Johnny and Christine has just shown what it can do - the trick is getting the size right and the type of edging/merging. Also I find working at about 200% size is helpful.

I have found a couple of tutorials on selection and I am working my way through them and I have also found a cloning tutorial. Glad it is bad weather as it gives me a bit more free time.

I am on the case.

I have had a go and I am quite pleased with the results - working at 200% definitely helped

There's a label behind the far buffer which I'd be inclined to clone out as well. I'm not sure what happened between your post in the gallery and your post above, but there has been a colour shift - the glorious reds of the original have now become a less vibrant orange. Also if there's a tad more to the right of the buffers, and crop a tad of the left I think that would help the composition rather than the eye being lead to the extreme right of the image - Just MHO

I have now re-edited the original and I am very grateful for all the suggestions. It is now a much better photograph than before and I have learnt how to do a few things in PS. Much more practise required though.

The original colour was more orange so I am not sure what I did to get that vibrant shade of red but I have stuck with it.
