Thanks for the link. I was thinking of getting one but with 67Mb RAW file, I'll need to buy a main-frame computer. That's not so much of a problem, but it'll probably take two weeks to download a day's shooting and the servant is bound to object. Also, at my age, I probably won't be able to carry the camera. I think that I'll stick with my 20D.

“The new Mamiya DL33 Digital Camera System offers the best of both worlds by providing medium format performance at a price that serious photographers can afford.”
That puts me in my place then, I am not a serious photographer! :D

I have no problem with 190mb 16 bit TIFF files. But I have a serious problem with that price tag. :D

A cheaper alternative to the H3 series stuff tho. If that's your bag.

birdsnapper, right you are saying "it'll probably take two weeks to download a day's shooting" ))
Pentax is said to announce their medium-format camera, but unfortunately i don't have such details as megapixels and RAW file size)

What A Bargin !

It's the offer of the free lens that swings it for me. Best order 2 just in case my Wife wants to take a few snaps.:) But will it be as much fun as my 1954 £14 medium format camera?

Hi there, funny but I found a Fuji GA645Zi in a Charity shop the other day - in a box of old folding cameras and stuff. Bought for £10 and I'll scan the negatives - worth a try don't you think?? I reckon it may be more than 33mp depending on film? What do you think??

Hi Andy. Just had a trot round a few photographic web sites, at £10 your Fuji camera looks a good buy. Try some Fomapan black and white film through it. The film is available at 100, 200, and 400 ISO. It's know for it's "forgiving nature" A polite way of saying if you cock up on the camera settings you still get a readable image. It's saved me embarrassment on numerous occasions. Have fun.

Regards Phil.

You got a bargain there Andy, assuming it works. I find it theraputic to now and again put a reel of film through my Rolleiflex, I'm sure you'd find the same with the Fuji. Slows you down, makes you chill a little, and you get pretty stunning quality too.

Thanks folks, its now all cleaned up, new batteries etc, seems to work perfectly, as you say Duncan, time to chill, it has film in but only two shots taken so far - on the D3 I seem to take 4 or five with one press of the button ;)

And we don't have a price on the Leica S2 yet, or the lenses to go with it   .
Looks like it will be released if this is anything to go by.

Mayfair store ...... memories of sinking up to my ankles in the carpet in Wallace Heaton in the 60's. My mate insisted on getting his Pentax Spotmatic from there rather than a local shop. :D
