Weekend Challenge 29th May - 1st June .. Macro.."what am I"

Weekend Challenge, the challenge will be open to all members.

Topic: MACRO...." what am I".... no flowers or insects please

The challenge will be run on (GMT) time, Friday noon (12:00 hours) through to Monday noon (12:00 hours).
The Weekend Challenge will close Monday 12 noon for posting photos, to allow time for a 3 day poll.

A 3 day poll will be in place in the thread, for you to vote for the best photo for that weekends challenge, the voting will end on Thursday at noon.
The winner picks a challenge for the following weekend and starts a new thread.

1. One photo per member.
2. To be taken during that weekend. (I hope you will be honest here).
3. The photo must include exif data if possible with date and time.
4. This may seem harsh but no comments from any members to be included in the thread. This will make it harder if there is a lot of photos for the voters to go through.
5. Post your entry as an attachment directly in this thread.

Thanks Trena - this comment should bring it to the head of the threads.

congratulations Alan on this weeks win....look forward to the next challenge.
You will have to buy yourself some treats if you know what they all are!!!...

yelvertoft 05-06-09 08:15

Well done Alan. Your turn to pick the next theme.

andy153 05-06-09 08:18

Congratulations Alan. Where to next?

graham harcombe 05-06-09 08:26

Well done Alan, nice one! I think I guessed most of them, but it would be nice if the authors could identify their subjects 'oficially'.

Mine was a refill pack of razors, hence the reference to Occam's Razor, a problem solving principle of shaving things back to their basics.

Thanks.

chunshine 05-06-09 08:29

Thank you Trena, Duncan, Andy and Graham. I didn't work them all out so no treats for me ;) I will put up the new challenge shortly :)

Congratulations Alan.
Mine was some small stones on the fountain, focus stacked of 6 frames to give depth. What I didn't spot straight off was the way the water droplets have formed on the right side.

Thanks Chrisitne. I noticed it and thought it looked good. Looks as if the drops are making the shape of the end of a fountain pen at the top of the formation. :)

I worked out most as well, mine was a small touch light, which I thought looked a bit like a golf ball. I think I might be a bit out of my depth with the next challenge though.

Hi Trena,

I thought yours looked like a golf ball too, but the chrome effect made me think it wasn't.

With your creativity and imagination I can't believe you will be out of your depth.

This is why I chose this topic though. It makes people work outside of their comfort zone. The best way to approach it is to get a list of words that describes something, for example Love, Hate, Joy etc etc, and then think of how a picture can convey that description. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece, the most important thing is that people get the message. I will put up a picture in one of the galleries that I did yesterday for my stock portfolio to give an example of what I mean. Cheers Alan :)
