Hi all, not been on for a while but I have finally bitten the bullet and got me an ipad2 as a Xmas pressie for myself, mainly to use as portfolio and also watch films on the train..
Anyone know what is the optimum size for best results for Photos on there?
What should I resize my pics to?

Am I not, behind the times getting an ipad 2 now then, thought everyone but me had one..... lol

i use an original ipad and resize photos to 1400x933 for it.

I am so far behind that I am not to sure what an ipad is or what I would use one for. Better have a look on the net and find out. :confused:

I think an ipad is a sort of net book or laptop without a lid. No idea what I would use one for though. :)

That is what I thought too! Buy a laptop without a lid and then have to buy a protective sleeve for it makes perfect sense (not). Ah it has an apple on it, that explains all! :D

I love my iPad! The screen is stunning so it makes for a great way to show photos to clients and friends. It is also great for web surfing, I'm on it right now. I don't turn mine off, just leave it asleep (battery drain in sleep is ~ 1% a day) from sleep to being online is a matter of seconds so it is handy for looking stuff up on the fly. I also like the small size, easy to slip in a bag when visiting friends, so I can pop online and check email and the forum while away from home. My wife was sceptical, but within a month of me getting one she'd got one too!

Ha ha, its got a superb quality screen and saves me lugging my 17.5 inch laptop everywhere..

A friend of mine got his kid an ipad2 for Christmas (different world). I can see why people like them good bit of kit. Cost too much for me, wait for the ipad3 to come out then look at the ipad2 maybe.

I have an iPad 2. Amazing bit of kit. Once I have edited all my images, I make a copy of them for back up into iCloud. These are then available to me anywhere in the world as long as I have an Internet connection. The I mages can also be added directly onto the iPad. Which serves me well as my portable portfolio I show to potential clients.

I don't feel the need to resize images as the iPad seems to do a fine job of doing it for you when you want to view them.

Nemesis if you plan to use as a portfolio they are a good bit of kit. I use mine to take to clients houses and link to the TV, which works really well as the larger images give it a bit of the wow factor.

They are expensive for what they are though, and a smaller and much less expensive note book would do a similar job

An ipad 128gb version has been announced and is due to launch on Feb 5th. At £739 I think I'll stick with my laptop.

I never had to resize any photo in my iPad. I think the iPad Photo software has been developed in a way that it fills the screen with your photo by avoiding some part of it. This what I've noticed many times.

Cool, Anyone have any tricks for uploading and removing, seems you can't view the files through itunes so I have to take all the pictures off everytime to sort what i want on there?
