Fortnightly Challenge 24 Jul to midnight 7 Aug - FIRE
Fortnightly Challenge 24 Jul to midnight 7 Aug - Fire
I've had a think and havent come up with any inspiration. We've had Water & Air... Earth sounds really difficult so I choose Fire. Anything at all associated with FIRE. Fortnightly Challenge is open to all members of WPF. The challenge will be run on (GMT) time. Post your photo in this thread any time from 24 Jul to midnight 7 Aug. Then a 3 day poll will be placed in this thread for voting on the photo you like best in this challenge. Please give your photo a title. The winner picks a challenge for the following fortnight and starts a new thread... in case of a draw the majority of members are happy with the 1st entry to start up the new challenge, which saves us having to do another vote. 1. One photo per member 2. To be taken during period stated above 3. The photo must include exif data with date and time 4. Post your entry as one attachment directly in this thread 5. No discussion of entries in the thread 6. Do not post any entries in the gallery until after the voting has finished To create a poll : * go to top of thread and in Thread Tools press 'Add a poll to this thread'. [note: only the starter of this thread can see this option.] * In the update options box change the number 2 to how many have entered. * In each box put the title of the entered photos. * In close poll, put 3 days. * Submit new poll. |

Well done Postcard, an excellent image and well deserved winner. Second again for me...must try harder!
|
Congratulations Postcard.
|
Is there a thread where we can discuss the images once the voting closes?
|
Not as such unless I have missed it. I would use this thread after voting if you want to discuss the images.
|
Is there a reason why the entries are not discussed here after voting closes? Do you not think its a good idea? There seems little interaction between the contestants and was wondering why. Hope Im not speaking out of turn and don't want to upset the apple cart, me still being fairly new. Just thought if there was more interaction and discussion it may attract more entrants, as I have experienced in other forums.

thanks everyone :)
I have now started the next one up, I was going to go with the theme and choose earth but it seemed a bit tricky so have gone slightly sideways and the new theme is "Rock". http://www.worldphotographyforum.com...ead.php?t=7558 I think it is fine for any discussion about the photos in this comp to be discussed in the thread after voting is finished. It seems to be the sensible place as it is where all the photos are. |
OK, I will say a few things if thats ok. If anyone else wants to follow suit, feel free.
I liked the winning shot, it was my favourite. I liked the 'fire in the sky' approach and the exposure on this was very good. No clipped highlights. I had thought of trying this but I'm too lazy to get up for sunrise (awaiting a later time of year) and I feels quite vulnerable being out on my own when its dusk with my camera equipment, which is a shame. Hubby hates photography and doesn't like the waiting about when I ask him to come along. I also liked Arthurs unusual take on the theme. All in all, a good quality of entries, just wish there was more entrants. |
Thanks DigiDiva. Agree the winner was a good photo but I voted for yours. Like the thinking of two kinds of hot.
Photographing alone. Do you have a photo club you could join or any way to meet others who are happy to go with you? |
Photoclubs...I have thought of this but hear my local one is a bit 'stuffy' and the next nearest one is a Friday, my drinking night!!!!
I have been out with other people, one who I met through another forum and one who I met at college, but it didn't really work out. |
