Hmmmmmmm, 'creative' - very interesting. Trena, this is so 'up your street'. I hope I can come up with something exciting. I'm out of the country next week but still have a few days after my return

I waited for all the tourists to disappear, but Fido wasn't for moving! So he's become my creation.

DigiDiva 24-11-13 17:45

I thought I only had till midnight tonight to squeeze in an entry but now I see i have another day or so. This means I will probs still manage an entry. Looked through my Tenerife images and played a little but Im not getting what i want. Will see what I can do though, however there are some quality entries so far that will be hard to beat!

Quite hard to vote this week!

John&me 01-12-13 01:22

Well done Clive. Time to think of a new challenge

John

Tugboat 01-12-13 12:00

congrats Clive..very creative image

Peter Waites 01-12-13 12:03

Yup Nice One Clive.

Gidders 01-12-13 16:45

Thanks for the votes guys... thinking cap on ;)

DigiDiva 01-12-13 17:39

Well done clive - a clever take on the theme and a deserved winner.

My 'up' comment - Graham's Guardian Of The Gate - A creative composition, with the 'phallic' shaped building through the doorway. A good entry.

My 'down' comment - Fotek's Two Dogs - A great idea of dogs watching dogs on TV, however there were strong entries this week and didn't think this was as strong an entry as some of the others.

Peter Waites 02-12-13 09:33

I found the warmth sharpness and composition of Trena's "yellow" very attractive and another time I think it might have been a winner. John's "matches" with it's understated colour is quite moody. Good idea.

Tugboat 02-12-13 12:35

congrats to Clive that was a very creative shot, looks great.....
my up, Peter's ready for the day, well done Peter, colourful and creative...my down, Arthur's misty.. very nice waterfall shot with mist added.
I really enjoyed this challenge as it got me back taking photos again....I am off on holiday tomorrow so won't be able to join in on the next challenge, will catch up the one after.

DigiDiva 06-12-13 23:31

Not many ups/downs this time. Such a shame as they help the learning process

graham harcombe 07-12-13 06:02

Sorry about the long pause - not always in a position to use the net. My up was Clive and the ultimate winner, an excellent image and it brought a little pzazz to the competition. Being picky, I may have been tempted to fade the edges of the star bursts.

My downsy is DigiDiva and in fact the entry I voted for. I thought it was imaginative and one of only a few who captured the real intention of the competition. No complaints on this one at all - ideal background and nicely lit.

Graham

DigiDiva 07-12-13 13:38

Thanks graham

Gidders 08-12-13 11:45

Ups & Downs...

Up - Misty by Arthur53. A nice effect which almost looked as though it had been done by the old trick of Vaseline on a skylight filter but I suspect done in PS. For me I think I would have liked the jutting out bit in the centre of the frame to have been kept sharp

Down - Guardian of the Gate by Graham. Well captured and I admire your patience. I think if it had been my shot, I'd have corrected the verticals & given the contrast & saturation a bit of a punch. Also I just wasn't quite sure how well it fitted the theme (although I know sometimes I stretch the boundaries a bit ;) )

As always JMHO guys

Gidders 08-12-13 12:01

Here's an thought extending Digi's idea of learning form each other... how about when voting has closed, if appropriate particularly with a theme like this, the author of the image post a short 'Behind the Scenes' of how the images was created?

So for my image Behind the Scenes...
  1. Shot the base image of the abstract picture with three bottle of ink.
  2. Created an explosion layer using this snow technique but keeping the 'snow' vertical
  3. Masked off a rectangular selection the width I wanted for the top of the explosion down to the top of the bottle & deleted the rest
  4. Transformed the selection inwards at the bottom using the warp transformation to give the desired share
  5. Added a colour photo filter clipped to the explosion layer so it only coloured the explosion
  6. Repeat for bottles 2 & 3

DigiDiva 10-12-13 21:31

Love the idea...just sorry that I haven' been around lately.
