DIY Infinity Curve

Has anyone made their own infinity curve? I'm wanting to make a small table top one for my still life images and was wondering how easy it is. I'm guessing you would make a frame, cover plywood in some kind of vinyl and attach it (curved) to the frame.

ANy ideas anyone?

Nice simple guide on that link Trena. May tempt me into the workshop :-)

I make them to get product shots for work all the time. Here I used a 1.5m wide roll of white paper and tape it between the wall and work bench.

I googled images and found some very simple ideas with cardboard boxes and white paper...I also just use white paper, or greaseproof paper from the kitchen, (get nice light through it)...amazing what a bit of sticky tape and some kitchen paper can do for you.

I have used white card before - just tape the front edge to the table and rest the other end on the wall so it curves nicely behind the subject. No frame needed...

Sounds simple but is it sturdy in that way?

It has worked well for me with smaller items. I havent tried with anything big and heavy, but then if the object did spoil the card, or the card began to look old and overused, it isnt a big cost to get another sheet...

For table top infinity curves just use normal background paper and drape it with a curve.

Easy!

Then make the paper taut and / or adjust the lighting so you don't have shadows.

Regardless of anything else you shouldn't have shadows on your background, unless of course you want them. If you do have shadows then you probably don't have the lighting set right.

It may be a case of using a different modifier or adding another light. Or both.
