Photoshop actions

How many of you use photoshop actions?

I have downloaded many from different sites and have been using it for sometime. Some actions are really good and are useful for those not very conversant with photo shop.

Let discuss all about actions here.

Yes, I've been pushing the B&W conversion and toning actions in this thread

for a while now, it doesn't seem to have been popular with others here, but I use them all the time.

Hi there, I'm just starting to get to grips with Photoshop CS3 and I have the Scott Kelby and Martin Evening books. I would be very interested in this thread as so far I tend to rely on filters such as Nik soft 3, DxO and Fred Miranda's B/W and Velvia Vision filters rather than scripted actions.

I use action a lot - some I've downloaded, and some I've recorded myself.

All the frames/mounts you see on my images posted in my gallery are generated through actions.

Another one I use a lot is to convert my finished post processed image ready for posting on the web. When post processing I work with the full resolution multi layer image in 16 bit Adobe RGB. Before posting I need to duplicate (so I don't loose the option to revisit my work) resize, flatten, convert to 8 bit & convert to sRGB - ideal process for an action :D

I don't use them but would like to learn. I'm using PS 7 so some of the discussion may not work for me but that's ok , I'll still be learning a bit.

hi, actions are for those who are not very skillful with photoshop, guess most of the actions for cs2 should work with PS7. Here is one action that i like very much, it worked well on some of my portraits. Try it out and let me know.
