Nik 3 update

Yesterday I purchased the Nik 3 update, just a heads up about the download.
I am coming from the Apple Mac perspective it may be different for windows.
First it takes 2HOURS and 24 mins to download the 1.4 GB file.
Then it would not open, I got in touch with DXO and they sent me a new link and licence number and said to try again.
So another 2 & 1/2 hours this morning it downloaded and I installed it, another 1/2 hour. All this for minor updates plus a new perspective module.
So just be aware if you are considering getting it, set a morning or afternoon aside to do it.

Had a look at, but at that price there is no way I would ever consider it. The free version is excellent, but this offer is nothing of any consequence. As for perspetive control this is included in CS6.

I am with you to some extent Harry, I won't be upgrading again, (£50 is a bit steep for an update ) but it is far better than the old free version that is no longer available since DXO took them over.
I have never had Photoshop and don't like "hiring" it monthly.
I use DXO PL3 elite, Luminar 4 and Elements 19 ( another one not worth updating I need it for the RAW conversion for my Fuji images, DXO can't do Fuji ) and the Nik 3 "plugs in " to the DXO and Elements so is in the filters pane.

Charles on hearing that DXO was taking over the Nik collection I kept a copy of the download of Googles version if Nik, so no problems here. I agree with you regarding Photoshop. I also refused to go the rental way, after spending a great deal of money with Adobe over the years there was no way I was then going to start renting the software. So I just stayed with CS6 & Lightroom 6.
Apparently there is still a way you can download the free version Via DXO, but must admit to never trying to do so. There are a number of links on the Web on how to do this.

Not heard of the free download, just a free trial that only lasts 30 days.
I am beginning to think the old saying "if it aint broke don't fix it" applies to software updates as well.
If it works and suits your workflow method then stick with it.
Charles.
