graham harcombe 11-01-16 22:44

Nicely done Trena.

sassan 12-01-16 09:39

Have NO clue!
But then Donald Trump is talking on Jimmy Fallon's show right now on TV, so I can consider myself very confused, if not disturbed:) I need to think more here.

OK show is over.
Is this "A stitch in time saves nine"?

Tugboat 13-01-16 12:54

haha, Donald Trump is enough to confuse anyone!!!

yes an easy one "a stitch in time saves nine"

if you or anyone else has something to put up, please go for it.

OK & good.
Here goes mine but please pay no attention to the written part, clue is only in picture and its going to be simple, so no deep thoughts involved (After all I am American!) just think of what you see for a simple todays proverbs or more correctly slang that I am sure William Shakespeare had no idea about it (So don't go for older stuff). Sorry if Trena mine is not as delicate and nicely made as yours but here goes the trial.

Please share what you think.

Sorry for the delay - I thought I'd posted something

I haven't had a chance to shoot something specifically so here's an old shot some of you may have seen before - if you have & remember the answer, keep quiet to give others a go - if not guess away ;)

I know, I know. I should have listen to your last line and act as if I know and pass with prestige so others could guess but must admit, I don't Know! That is even if the quality of the image (Minus the red eye change), Beauty of the subject, excellent light and great pose would not distract me. But anyways let me make a guess, and by no means I am certain in any way:
"Go down like a cup of cold sick"?!!

Never heard of that - is it one you've invented ;)

PS - no red eye reduction on this one - you dont get red eye with off camera flash :D - 100% crop of unprocessed image attached

Wow. That was my last, hard to believe, possible explanation. A fully opened pupils, despite flash/studio's light etc. What are you doing? Keeping your model in jet black studio or like Cleopatra, she has used some "belladonna" (Word coming from Bella Donna or Pretty Woman -No Richard Gere or Julia Roberts involvement!), when on olden days, ladies used to keep their eyes wide open (A measure of beauty by that time standard) used to install some essence of herb Atropa belladonna, a potent source of Atropine, that is a mydriatic or pupil opening material/ Same thing your ophthalmologist put into your eyes for "Open eye examination" that you know, you need to be taken home by someone and relax for the rest of day, as you vision will be totally impared/blurred throughout, till effect of medicine is vanished on the next day), that is in addition of using kohl (Not Coal) around the eyes to blacken the margins of eye (When it had large amount of Lead and is well known to be toxic to human).
So I must say, my admirations to all ladies of all ages, and how far they had go to keep themselves beautiful!

OK enough of history. Any taker for this Game? Common don't feel shy.

graham harcombe 21-01-16 21:24

Many a slip twixt cup and lip - perhaps?

Gidders 21-01-16 22:34

Too easy for you - well done Graham

graham harcombe 23-01-16 23:06

Now this is a "Puzzle" when you saying:" not a 'what is it' challenge!!"
And obviously the question is should we go as What it is, now OR What it is Not?

Well if its still What it is, game, I would guess:
Zone designated as "No flat-chested, balded mermaids allowed here"!!!

otherwise, hint please, as to; Is or Isn't!

ARFA 25-01-16 00:10

It's got be "no diving",along with "no swimming,no laughing and definitely don't enjoy yourself".

Gidders 25-01-16 15:40

I've just moves Graham's images/challenge & the associate guesses to this thread as its a proverb... but I've no idea what the answer is :(

sassan 25-01-16 18:51

Good. Now the puzzle is more clear though not much change about the answer!:)

How about:"You can't cross the sea merely by seating and staring at the water."

graham harcombe 26-01-16 07:38

The clue is the man and what surrounds him.

Tugboat 26-01-16 10:24

wet behind the ears
or
Don't make waves

graham harcombe 26-01-16 12:57

When a man is crossed out ...does become 'no man' ?

Me neither.
Also listening to Graham's hint I was totally gone with the unusual clone and mask of periphery, cost and surrounding of image... Would not even guess that in seven life.

Any how who is the next for new puzzle? now that Graham gave up on us!
I have one ready and if you don't want to go Trena, let me know to add a new Proverbs puzzle.

I thought Grahams comment was a clue rather than an answer. Maybe his one could be "no man is an island"?

Ooops!
Is that true?
Please input with more hints. If this turns out to be an easy common proverbs, I would be disappointed on myself!:)
In any case, it can't be: "No Man's Land" or would it fit being not even Land!

Tugboat 27-01-16 08:16

haha!!! no wonder I hadn't heard of it lol, sorry Graham

graham harcombe 27-01-16 21:38

Well done! No man is an island is the correct answer. Sorry I'm a little tardy with replies, I'm living away from home at the moment and not always on the net.

postcardcv 27-01-16 23:17

I don't have one to post so if someone does then go for it.

Ok.
Here goes one from me.
This is really easy so if you found it immediately, at least act professional and ask one or two question!:)

So tell me what proverbs/idiom is incorporated here?
(Image is large so I won't leave a Link of direct image. Please left click on thumbnail so see full size).

graham harcombe 02-02-16 21:39

But you are in the right track to read elements of picture that once put together, talks of the proverb.
BTW I hope my "One" that is: 1 is not looking like 7!!!:o

Tugboat 03-02-16 00:05

forgot about this one.

Hehhh.
Never heard of that one, yet you are getting very close. And yes the Number is 1 (Not 7).
Hint: Please look carefully to see if that is the World or something else in a particular color!

Tugboat 03-02-16 07:16

now I think I have it,
once in a blue moon.
