Serif have brought out Affinity Photo, to rival Photoshop. It's not quite as Good as the full-blown Photoshop, but far, far better than Elements. And it only costs £40 as a one-off payment. Unfortunately, for you PC users, it's only for Mac at the moment, but Serif are developing it for Windows. I've got it and can't imagine using Elements again.
