Sigma 10-20mm on my 550d does a very good job and not a bad price, the Canon 10-22mm is a bit better and lighter but costs a lot more. Tamron 10mm-24mm good center sharpness not so good edges but lighter than the sigma but not lighter than the canon.
Tokina 12-24mm the heaviest not so wide but very sharp.

I have a Sigma 10-20 f3.5 and it produces stunning pictures. On my camera i dont get vignetting that others have mentioned that you sometimes get on these wide angle lenses. I picked mine up pretty cheaply from Big Norman who i have to say were very quick on turnaround. They were a real suprise to me as i had never heard of them before but get excellent reviews.
