Photographic Subjects?
 

Having spent most of my digital photographic experience on wildlife, in particular birds, Im beginning to enjoy the challenge found in other subjects. Areas I'd love to develop in are portrait and landscape.

What are favourite subjects for your photography?

Favourite subjects? That's tricky, I try to look out for anything that might make a good picture. I've done a wide range of subjects in my time, each have their challenges and rewards. The stuff I really wish I was better at is "still life", but that's about lighting as much as anything else, and I really struggle with getting the light right.

Favourites are buildings, backlit subjects, I'm quite into infrared stuff at the moment, always wanted to try it with film, even bought the filter. Never quite got 'round to buying the film as I was always put off by the cost. Since going to digital, this hasn't been an issue.

I spend most of my time taking photos of birds - particularlys obsessed with photos of waders and sparrows (but that might be because they have a habit of posing for me).

I recently got a macro lens so plan to spend a lot more time on my hands and knees taking shots of insects.

The other main subject is my 15 month old daugher - just looked and there are over 7000 photos of her on my hard drive!

I prefer bird and wildlife photography over people portraits. Also dabble in landscapes and architecture.

Macro photography, of every day items i think is also quite interesting. Really fancy portraiture in black and white.

Anything and everything is my subject, if it moves..I'll shoot it, if it dont move...I'll shoot it anyway :)

Photographing kids is my next love actually.

Hi,Tom,small world!!!.If I was a prof photograher,I would make sky,clouds and water scenes my forte.I just love seeing the pictures in the clouds and the changing skies.Also I love to see the changes and shadows on the hills when the sun is passing over.

Why not develop that interest? You have some crackin gear for the job. The area in which you live is a landscape photographers dream! Go on, you know its right.... ;)

In the past I have specialised in plants and flowers, fungi, insects and of course birds and wildlife.
I am at present looking for inspiration for developing my photography further. I am not a real lover of most landscapes but may look at the unusual composition in landscape. Still thinking.....
