Do strange stone monolith's appear in your living room whenever you have one attached to your camera?

Really though, I don't understand why people pay extra for items if they are mass produced products, simply because they were handles by a person who's job was in the public domain. Using lenses handled by Kubrick will not make you any better a photographer than if you used identical lenses handled by anyone else.

I think they will be bought by collectors of memoribilia, who also collect things like film props and Hendrix's guitars. IMO it is questionable how long they will maintain their value.

I once saw an auction for one of the Nikons once used by war photographer Tim Page.....
Yes, and it looked like it'd been to war too!
Needless to say it (and before anyone gets any ideas and starts driving over their old film camera bodies)...it only fetched a lot of money because of it's certified proven history.
