Photoshop Elements 6 for MAC

Hi there, Photoshop Elements 6 for the MAC is now out - supposed to be a big improvement on 4. Anyone any experience of it Mac or PC?

As I understand it this will be a slimmed (slimed?) down version of CS3 and probably won't run properly on anything older than Intel CPU and OS 10.5.(yawns & exit right)

(momentary return stage left)
However it would be interesting to know if it includes curves and whether (on mac) the preview quality of the image being worked on is any better than on PSE4 - otherwise probably better to pay extra £100 and have the real thing?

Got El 5 for PC and like it a lot - especially for £60 - £70. Yes, it is a stripped (striped) down version of CS3.

The RAW converter is basic but good - don't know if it supports Nikon, but I don't care!!!

It ain't got curves and it ain't got snapshot. But it's got levels and shadows/highlights (which is really great for my basic level of knowledge) - see my work on Snowyowl's pic of song sparrow.

It's got magic extractor - which works really well and should be included in CS3. It's also got layers and basic layer mask.

I've got use of CS3, but don't miss it much when using El5.

Hi Chris - It supports G4's G5's & Intel Macs - OSX 10.4.8 to 10.5.2; 1GB RAM;
64MB VRAM; 1GB space needed - Has intelli editing and quick fixes & enhanced Photomerge. Have ordered upgrade so will report back.

First impressions: It is a stripped down version of Photoshop CS3 - it does a lot more than Elements 4 which I have and is a lot easier to use. I would suggest it is definitely one to consider if you do not want to go down the full Photoshop route. Many tasks are automated and handle the basics very well. It does not yet seem to be able to handle some of the better Photoshop plugins such a Nik Software Viveza, Dfine or ColorEfex Pro - I have also had it crash with Neatimage. Early days yet - keep with this thread if you are interested and I'll go into more detail shortly.
