ZigView and Zigview R
Hi
Has anyone had experience of using either of these rather useful-looking devices (search using "Zigview" on www.warehouseexpress.co.uk)? I am thinking to get one to use on my Canon 20D but would like to find out what others think before parting with my "wad"! Cheers Didi |
I've also thought that they look an interesting addition to the kit bag - be interested in any first hand experience

The zigview is a very handy piece of kit. It benefits from a shade around the screen on sunny days but it gives you the flexibility to create shots that you wouldn't otherwise get. It's a sealed rechargeable unit, so if you're away from a power source for a few days this might be an issue, but other than that I've found no faults with it.

Hi Gidders/R2didi2,
Speak to Nigel Blake, he did a review/test on Birdforum a little while ago.If already seen, sorry to have wasted your time. regards Subzero |
Thanks Subzero - I'll check it out :)

R2didi2 and I were at Birdfair this weekend, where we found out that there's a new Zigview on the way - the S2. This one has the features of the R but the LCD is rotatable in extra directions and you can remove the LCD and attach it with a cabe - allowing it to be used as a remote release, but one where you can see the image in the viewfinder!

Sounds like a great idea but the new model's listed at £250 on the Zigview website! At that price I'll wait a while.
There's a comms port on the standard £99 model but there's no info in the instructions or on the Zigview site about what this can be used for. I use my Zigview for high-level shots so it would be nice to be able to connect a remote monitor to it to save peering up at a tiny screen. |
I want one of those, me ;)

I've just had a response from the Zigview site that the port on the standard model isn't live.
