cp 990 settings

A plea for advice,
Can anyone helpwith a basic problem. When setting up my cp990 I manage to save the settings in 1, 2 or 3. This is useful as I am trying digiscoping for the first time and need to have particular settings. However, when I take the batteries out to recahrge I lose all the saved settings. Is there a way to keep these once the batteries are out. Yesterday, cracking view of Lesser spotted woodpecker through scope and camera. Just about to begin taking pictures when wreteched battery holder decided to open and out fell all 4. All settings obviously disappeared just as rapidly as the LSW. Ho hum
Any suggestions gratefully received. Probably in the handbook, just too lazy to find it.
Many thanks,
Jono

Gee, I've never experienced this problem. I do know if the batteries are out too long this might happen as I had this problem with another camera.

I'm assuming that you do not have "reset" clicked in the on position in the menu for when you turn the camera off?

Don't you just hate manuals? Usually as clear as mud!

Might be worth posting the question on the Digiscoping section of Bird Forum.

Ha! I don't usually touch the manual until a couple of months into the purchase ;)

Thanks for these suggestions. I have just got to using matrix and manual etc so am now slowly absorbing one part of the manual at a time. Had camera couple of months now and gaining more success as I go. Shall check out the reset function as I am not familiar with this yet.
Certianly not designed to take on board much of the endless manual in one hit. Pleased just to just be happy with the results sofar, can only improve.
