Help with Elements 6.

I raised the following 'ticket' with Adobe:
''I have Elements 6 installed on both my Windows XP Pro 32 bit desktop
and Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I downloaded photos onto both machine
s after which the programme informed me new files were selected for
download although they were already downloaded. Then informed th
ey would not be installed as they were already installed. After that neither
machine will let me save an edited file in a version se
t as the option is greyed out. Also even if I load a file into editor and close it
again clicking on 'do not save' the programme mak
es a new thumbnail and informs me a new file is in the watch folder and
wants to download it and the attached tag. I end up with dup
licate thumbnails. The programme had been working properly on both
machines and went wrong on both at the same time after downloadin
g new photos. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the programme on both
machines but the problem persists. None of the user options
under edit/options have chaned.
Browser: N/A
Operating System: Not Applicable
Printer model / driver version: Canon ip6700D latest driver.
Has it ever worked? If so, what's changed? (provide comments in
description field): Yes
Same results with different file?: Yes
Same results with different computer?: Yes
Recent System Hardware or Software change?: No''

Adobes response was they do not support Elements 6 any more so I should buy 8! Any ideas any one?

That is very strange mike, especially as it has happened on both machines at the same time. Have you tried posting this on the various elements forums, thats all i can suggest, hope you get it sorted.

Thanks for the reply. On the XP desktop ran the free Microsoft on line safety scanner which incorporates a registry optimizer and this seems to have sorted that one. Unfortunately the scanner is not compatible with 64 bit OS systems so no good for the laptop. Other registry scanners have improved things to the point that I can not save in version sets but the rest seems OK. Obviously a registry thing but that seems about as far as I can get. As you say strange that it should happen to both machines at the same time so something obviously triggered it but I have no idea what. Ho hum, love computers!
