Camera RAW and photoshop CS

I have a panasonic DMC FZ30 and would like to work in raw photoshop. It would seem that I am unable to use CS only CS2 as the FZ30 only come in on 3.2 and can only be used on CS2. Is there a way around this.?

Pete.

Is it possible that another Raw conversion program could be used instead of ACR. There is free beta version of Adobe Lighroom available at the moment which is definately worth a try.

Did Panasonic provide raw processing software with the camera? It may not be the best program available, but it will certainly teach you the basics of raw processing. Once you've learned the basics using the bundled software, it will make a lot more sense when you move on to a more professional package.

If no bundled software you can get a free trial version of Nikon Capture 4.4
http://www.nikonimaging.com/global/p...load/index.htm
and have the prelim play with that and may like it so much you get NX instead of upgrade to CS2

Will that work with Panasonic Raw files ?

I would think it will.

Mmm as I understand it Nikon Capture is for the processing of Nikon Nef (Raw) files, jpeg & Tiff files. Now unless Panasonic cameras produce Nefs then its doubtful their own format will work with NC.

I doubt it very much. Each manufacturer's raw files are different, in some cases even the same manufacturer has different raw formats. It is highly unlikely that you could get a piece of Nikon software to recognise a Panasonic format file.

Is it worth trying?
