Christmas Cards

So, come on you lot, how many of you make your own Christmas cards? I always get stumped at this time of year as to what theme to depict. Snow scenes are a rarity in my area nowadays and trying to get anywhere on our autobahns when it does snow further south is not worth the hassle of hours of stop and go. So, any ideas?
Last year I used a picture of a castle that I processed in PS with a 'Find Edges' filter that gave the impression of a snowy scene.
And what about calendars? Do you stick to the four seasons or pick a certain subject for the whole year?
Answers on a postcard to.........

I used to do cards for a couple of dog charities so it was dogs as a subject! Same with calendars - this year, apart from 60 for the Sussex Spaniel Association and a couple of dozen for our local rehoming charity, calendars are on an individual basis to suit the recipient. So mainly of their dogs - and a swan one for Wilma in Holland of course. Must get round to doing a couple for myself this year!

I usually have a go but have bought a few packs of Amnesty ones in case inspiration doesn't come in time.

This is one from 2 years ago called 'flocks by night' OK for religious and non-religious friends alike

Chris,I do like your card,it is very good.
I sent off to Photobox to have a few made using my own pics. Some of Alfie(our dog) wearing his Santa hat, also one of my Kingfisher photos made into a card. They had a special offer, also they made a donation to a charity.
in the Dec issue of Practical Photography, there is a very interesting section re making a card, involves using a large sheet of paper fixed to the wall, adding ones own effects, holly etc, then taking a photo of the finished product, and one has ones own Xmas card.
