Flash bracket

Hi all,
I am looking into buying a flash bracket to fit on a wimberly sidekick for use with a Sigma 500mm f4.5. I have looked at both the kirk & wimberly items which are stupid money. Is anyone using anything else?
I am using a wimberly p50 plate & a Nikon sc-29 cable.
