Photokit Sharpener
I came across an advert for Photokit Sharpener. Has anyone had any experience with this? If so, is it so much better than USM in Photoshop. In the event of favorable replies I will buy it. Thanks.

Try 'Luminous Landscape' (www.luminous-landscape.com) for review.
I tried a free download and thought it OK. There is more than one way of sharpening in PS that give good results, but can be a bit of a bother. |
Thanks mike, I've found the review and read it. I'll give the free download a try and then make my decision.

Mike and Simon,
Thank you again for your replies. I have now tried out Photokit and I like it enough to make a purchase. It's a fag reading through all the instructions but necessary and worth it. John. |
I'm sure it's money well spent - certainly takes some of the "dark science" out of sharpening.
I use it in 2 stages, firstly as soon as I open the image I apply the "capture sharpener" & then I use the "output sharpener" at the end of post-processing - making sure the image is at final size before applying. I find that there is still room for some additional USM/Smart sharpen if desired - although obviously this varies from camera to camera & image type (I use RAW / TIFF) simon |
