My skin tones were based on skin tone brightness in an image by Gerrit Dou in the painters twenty dutch masterpieces link above. The oval frame emphasizes the look of a person standing near a window or simialar in some art reproductions.

In this image, I used a painting reproduction as a GUIDE - only, to bring out my flowers similar to the general tone and feel of the painting reproduction. The original painting was from the 1400s' or so.

As for the art repruction, it is a totally different composition - including vertical.

On the P C - I 'painted' each colour or tone and SAVED after each.To do this, I clicked said colour and tone in my SATURATION TOOL with the EYEDROPPER ICON. Then I gave it a small amount of BRIGHTNESS and CONTRAST to match the reproduction as close as possible. My last part was a small amount of SHARPNESS.

Mixed Lighting
 

Anne did this at Lonsdale Quay Market. On here, I 'painted' the image clicking all colours and tones in SATAURATION TOOL, then added a small amount of CONTRAST and SHARPENING.

Under the mixed light of the skylight, it kept the image more natural than using LEVELS or CONTRAST AUTO FIX.

I have a feeling that its time for you to upgrade into a new camera toy as Anne may need your camera more often as evident by making such a good image.

I will have to look into your suggestion. As it stands, I do have my videocam. She does not use that.

Anne did the image, yes, but I fixed for her. For some reason, she has not had a desire to work on here. When she gets the urge to do her own work, then I will do more video and other studiles.

I do like to 'paint' my images. When I compare these images to my AUTO FIX IMAGES, these images come out closer to the real image. Along with that, I love the painting reproductions at this link - and others - to use as a guide to help me do a better image.

I tried to 'restore' some mixed light images. These were difficult to do to keep one part or other - bright or darker areas - from wiping out.

My background in the Purple Bush did go out a tad due to the brightness range in that one. Both bushes were done in a hazy bright evening with low sun.

By using art reproductions - as a guide only - I was able - a bit - to tone down a constrasty image done with the muted gold material.

Here is a link that I used to help with this image. I now the subject is flowers, but I used the principles of going part by part to try to tone this contrasty subject down. On the left side are images for study as well as this main one.
