Hello,

I was out with my camera this afternoon when i saw this jet heading really low and straight towards me, i got my camera out and as it passed i took this photo.

Im not a plane man myself but ive not seen one of these before? Is it the same style of planes the red arrows use?

Maybe somebody can tell me?

Thanks!

It is not a Hawk trainer, assuming the Red Arrows still use that. It looks like a civilian private jet with RAF markings. Maybe the Air Commodore was off for a wee round of golf?

Its a Hawker Siddley/BAE Dominie, based on the HS125 executive jet, the black/dark blue painted ones are used mainly for navigation training.

Agreed its a Dominie.

Dark Blue ones are Dasualt Falcons (sorry for bad spelling) operated by FRA mainly from Bournemouth.

i saw a gunship today hovering near andover, i was put off taking pictures of it, just because of its firepower!i know it probably wasnt all armed up, but i had a quick x file vision off a secret meeting with the feds lol

Thanks Chaps. I thought it maybe something to do with training, it was flying very very low...

Some RAF dominies are indeed black/dark blue, XS739 for example.
