Image with a Look Like a Painting
2 Attachment(s)
While looking through a book on Digi Photography, I came across the idea of setting my CONTRAST, SATURATION and SHARPNESS (in the menu's) to the MINUS SETTING. Setting those settings in the cam menu's, I tried an example down at our local market.
On the P C - in ELEMENTS - I went to ENHANCE - LEVELS (at the bottom). In there I clicked AUTO on the HISTOGRAM PAGE. For SHARPNESS I went to the SHARPNESS TOOL and clicked EDGE SHARPNESS, The flash was on NORMAL FLASH OUTPUT although it gives the impression it was hardly used at all. I do like the softer feel to the image and not the harsh flash when it is used. Norm D |

I was not thinking of using those tools. My idea was to try to do an image as 'straight' as possible and with a softer appearance and edge to it.
When I looked at reproductions on line and in my art reproduction books, I found some images were bright, with soft appearance and edge, and did not have the 'in your face' sharpness and contrast and saturation of many other images. I should have added more explantion, I guess. What you show is good, but I was thinking of keeping it as close to the source as possible without any manipulation. Norm D |
