Panorama Software

What about panorama software, there is an absolute plethora out there. Has anyone got a preference and why.

I use Panorama Factory, have done for years.

Why? I suppose it's primarily because I've been using it since it was shareware with only a nag screen once the 30 trial had expired (v2). It served my purposes well for many years. I now use v4. Nice easy interface, intuitive workflow, quick and easy, not tooo fussy about alignment and overlaps, can't really fault it. You can do some great virtual reality tours, making full circular panoramic wraps in QuickTime format too.

Autopano

It's always worth looking at a few options. I think Autopano is worth a little scrutiny.

If you take it a step further, you get into 360 panoramas viewable on Quicktime (or similar) which are spectacular and have their place.

I find the pano tool in elements 5 works well for me - having the added advantage of all the other elements tweeks too

I was recommended PTGui by a "pro" digital artist and have to say that it works very, very well

I use the stitch tool in Canons DPP. Very simple to use. The Elements one is too memory hungry even with 2 GB of ram. Would probably be OK with small files though.

Hi John, I also use Autopano but of late have been relying on the photomerge in Photoshop CS3. I find Autopano is slightly better with more complex panoramas.
