"Offline" Gallery
aka Photo album.
does anyone still build these? i have one, it doesnt contain all the shots from my web galleries, but shots i find worth printing. it is very mixed at the moment, not exactly one subject. just wondering if these are a dying thing as it easier to have an online gallery. If you still build one, what goes in it? Jamie |
Of course.
What goes in it? Anything I like enough to want to add to it. (BTW, I never print anything. Why should I? I can see anything I want on a top-quality screen any time I want to see it, so why fiddle about with ink and paper?) (Just my view of things.) When I've finished post-processing and have a master TIFF complete in every respect except resizing and final sharpening, I use PMView macros to create several display copies, in 800, 1024, 1280, 1400 and 1600 resolutions, plus a thumbnail. Takes about 10 seconds. |
I don't have an 'offline gallery' yet, but it's on the List of Things to Do. I like having a physical print of an image, especially as I work, for the most part, on-screen. It's nice to be able to browse without staring at the monitor. Any tips for where to buy a decent photo album would be gratefully received!

I'm not sure that i understand the question. Do you mean a hard copy album?
|
Mostly stuff goes online, though I sometimes create a digital album on CD to send to family members. I keep thinking that I should create digital albums of various subjects, or locations, primarily as additional backup, but I never seem to get round to it.

Still prefer to look at a print - it beats a computer screen any day. |
WH Smiths it is then, will have a look next time I'm in Cambridge. Cheers!
