need a little advice please
 

in need of some advice :) ive been looking at getting a sigma 70-300 macro lens for my canon 400d ive seen a Sigma 70-300mm APO Macro Super II for about 40 odd quid without a lens hood is there much difference between this lens and the newer SIGMA 70-300mm f/4-5.6 f4-5.6 APO DG Macro also where is it possisble to get a lens hood from ????

I am not sure but there is probably little difference except the newer model will have the coatings on the rear lens surface to prevent any flare or ghosting caused by reflections off the sensor therefore potentially better contrast. Buy a cheap rubber lens hood like Hoya used to make and still may do so.

The part you want is "LH635-01". If you do a Google search on that you will find "Euroshop" in Latvia - the page translates itself into english if you ask it. They advertise one for "9Ls" whatever they are, and they do mail order. Does that help?
