Freeware Image alteration software

I am a ferret as far as software (especially freeware) and tutorials etc are concerned, so you'll have to forgive me if you have seen these before. I usually find most of the sites are of interest to most people in this sort of community. Anyway, I have come across this piece of software that I consider to be excellent. It states that it can do the following....

Quote:

Advanced image editing, enhancement and analysis software. The program contains both most image enhancement features found in conventional image editors plus a number of advanced features not even available in professional photo suites.
So far it have put it through some test of mine and it has performed very well. It is especially good and colour and noise alterations that improve the image. Altering the curve mapper is wonderful in fact it has better control than photoshop (I have CS2) as far as I am concerned. Try it you'll be surprised, especially on bad images. Ok not all bad images will be improved by he software in either Image Analyzer or PS but it does an excellent job on the ones I have done myself. For example, I had bad light at an old monastery and the results were far better than PS.

I think its a question of "use what suits you best"
Personaly i am sold on "XN-view" , also a free download off the net with many built in features. I have deleted all the other photo softwares i had on the hard drive as this one does it all for me.

Each to their choice, but this does quite a bit more than Xn-viwer, as I have that as well, along with PS CS2, Picasa and other photosoftware. It all depends on what you want to do with your pics.
