canon 400d settings

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me, I have canon 400d I want to digiscope with, a zeiss 85, a griturn swing out bracket, camera has a 50mm f1.8 lens, I have been told that is the best lens to use, If anybody can help me with the best settings, I would be really pleased,

Will

Personally I'd stick the camera in AV, stop the lens down to about f4 and then set the ISO to whatever you need to get a reasonable shutter speed. Given the huge magnification you'll be shooting at I'd be aiming for speeds of 1/500th or faster, if you can't get that then open the lens up a bit.

HI Will. Camera and 'scope shake is a real problem when digiscoping. A remote lead helps as you won't move the rig when pressing the button. A sturdy tripod and head also helps reduce vibration. Looking forward to seeing some of your results.
