Cloning Help

2 Attachment(s)
The two attached pictures are pretty decent shots of a Sharp-shinned Hawk but each needs some cloning to remove twigs that cross the hawks lower body. I've tried in PS7 using the clone tool and healing brush but the results have been really bad for some reason. I'm wondering if my version of PS is working properly. Would anyone like to have a go?
Thanks!

Dan is this the type of cloning you wanted doing. It isn't perfect, my mouse for some reason is being very jerky.

Dan, on this one all I used was the burn tool to darken the areas where the branches have gone through the feathers.

Hi Dan - here's another effort using the cloning tool

Thanks, guys, excellent efforts. All I wanted was to fix the twigs that were in front hawks lower body and you've certainly done that although Christine's removal of more branches really works for me as well.. I never think to use the burn tool must must start to do so since it's obviously so effective..
I think my problem with the clone tool may have been because the Align box had somehow got unticked. I'll play with it today plus experiment wth burn.

Don't forget the stamp tool in DPP Dan, its one of its best features

Yes, Chris, I do tend to forget it. Here's my revised version using a combination of burn and clone.

That look great, I play around with the different tools to find what works best. Some it could be the clone tool others the burn tools it all depend on what you suits the subject.
