Electronic Book
Help - not sure if this is the best place to post this, but:
I'm looking for something to make up an electronic book for a family portrait session, something I can write to DVD and take round to show them the images, but with a bit of extra 'wow'. Anyone done this or can offer suggestions please? Thanks |
Hi Derek, remind me - Mac or PC? And do you mean you will take a Laptop with you to show results. If you are just taking a DVD - you need to know what system and software they have in order to show it, or are you wanting something to play on their family DVD Player/TV ?

Adobe premiere elements 3, seems simple enough. a kind of drag and drop timeline build. when creating a dvd you can make a menu screen and chapters. i have only had a quick go at it, but seems ok, many options to choose. works with video and jpegs. i have premiere 6 too but that looks alot different and havenot looked at that yet!
i am wanting to do wat you are doing for last years hols so will watch this space too. J |

I bit the bullet and finally bought an iMac. Great bit of kit btw :) But I also have my Laptop with windows on. But what I'm looking for is something I can burn to DVD which will play in just about any PC/DVD player. Doesn't have to be on a timeline Jamie, main thing I'm wanting is just something a little different from windows explorer!! |
no, the finishe product is like a slideshow, i was just saying thats how you build it in the program.

Hi again Derek, I suggest you use a Slideshow type presentation. Apple Keynote/iPhoto with the various fades and and layouts should be sufficient. They are compatible with Powerpoint and if you save the slideshow to disc they should play on almost anything

Andy, thanks for that - iPhoto has done the trick. Not bad at all for this kind of thing either...
