On camera soft boxes
Has anybody any idea where I can get an on camera soft box in UK? I've seen a couple from the US, but not comfortable ordering from there.
As cats are my main area of interest I don't have time to set up a studio type rig (I wish), but have to follow the 'model'. I know some do, but my thing with any animal is let it be what it is. For eg: You chose a cat, let it be a cat. Ripping up your furniture? Tough. I don't want to tell any animal to do anything, unless its going to hurt itself. Anything considered (apart from nailing their paws to the table) |
There's plenty of this kind of gadget for sale on ebay for pin money. Can't say that any of this kind of thing has a particularly good reputation for pleasing effects though. I suggest you'll get better shots by waiting until the model is in a location where there is enough natural light to achieve a good result. On-camera flash is something to be avoided in the vast majority of cases, regardless of any diffuser fitted.

I agree about avoiding on camera flash and just using natural light, I try to do that when ever possible, but sometimes it's just not possible. I have seen the E-bay stuff and wasn't impressed so I was hoping for some recomendations for something to fit on my Canon 430 EX (perhaps I should have mentioned that?).
Looks like I'll have to set up a semi permanent rig by the kitchen window. Sure to impress Mrs. deci  |
Cancel this........... Just found the Flash Techniques forum :o Aaaaaaaagh - the joys of being the new boy:D
