advice on retrieving images
I took some photos at a football match last night for a magazine publication, but when I uploaded them, the computer said that they are CR2 files, rather than the standard QuickTime Picture file that my past photos have been. As a result, I cannot open any of the photos.
Is there any way that I can change these files to viewable QuickTime files, or is there no chance? I've tried opening them with various programmes but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as these photos are quite important! Thanks, Paul |
CR2 files are Canon RAW files, if you install Digital Photo Professional (DPP) which will have come on a disc with your camera you will be able to convert them to either jpgs or tiffs.

Paul,
If you can't find the CD that came with your camera (as Peter has suggested above), do you have Adobe Photoshop or any other image editing software on your PC? Duncan |
thanks Peter, you're a life saver (or at least photo saver)! found the CD - i've never used it before - and it was very easy to use.
Thanks both for your help |
