Nikon D50 to D80

Is it worth while upgrading from a Nikon D50 to a D80?

The D90 is so much more expensive - I'm not prepared to pay that kind of money be.

I have D50 and know little about D80.
I think it definitely worths if the price of D80 is right and I will look for a good low shutter clicked second hand one.

If you don't miss that liveview movie mode on D90, you don't miss much.

Only you can really answer this question as only you know how much money is "right". What I would say is, for the kind of work you produce, especially your motorsport work, I think you would see a significant difference in the number of "keepers". Never used either D50 or D80, but as a general rule, the higher up the range you go, the snappier response you'll get from the equipment; there should be less of an element of luck in getting the shot.

Thanks for the replies and especially to Velvertoft for noting my interest in motorsport. Your "snappier" point has swayed me.

I am sorry if I took some excess space.
I tried to remove my comment but there is no edit option unfortunately.

And the D80 has is 10.2mp compared to the D50 6mp which helps for enlargements and croppping :)
