Rain protection
Having just found 'outdoor photography'....& being situated in probably one of the wetest parts of the UK..how do you protect your camera from the rain but still have it handy enough to shoot when required; rather than having to inconviniently dig it out of a bag or sack?

When out with a little lens I just tuck it in my waterproof with me (took some doing to find one large enough for me and the camera). When out with the big lens it gets the waterproof all to itself! I tie it one and the hood goes over the camera, still easy enough to shoot when needed... I reallu should buy a waterproof cover for it.

I use a bin bag and an elastic band. Hi-tech or what! The bin bag has a hole through which the lens hood is poked, and then the elastic band holds the bag in place. My head goes in the other, open end of the bag when taking a picture. Otherwise, the bag is folded over to keep out the water and the whole thing put in a beltbag. Cheap and effective, if not very stylish!
(It also allows a tripod to be used still) |
I use one of Sainsburys specially designed orange camera covers and an elastic band. Worth every penny :)

Hi there Al, I thought you might get Mrs. Tee to carry a suitably placed umbrella after that photo of her in sherpa guise :D It's probably the cheapest or perhaps not ...... I use the Aqatech Sportshield SS-200 with Nikon eyepiece LINK http://www.camerasunderwater.co.uk/s...ortshield.html It's for the D3 so although the price is OUCH, I think its worth it because of what it is protecting. :o

I don't do anything special at all. :)

Hi again Al. In the for sale section, member Wild Angus makes these covers.
