new dawn

Hey guys, I was just wondering ...

Is death considered new dawn? I guess not for the atheists but it certainly do for the theists?

I have to take a pic and was wondering if I could take one of a grave. Though its an end here on earth, if you believe, then its a new beginning for the life hereafter?

Hi there Crimson, I have, and still do lots of photography in Cemeteries and Graveyards. I have a small collection of unusual epitaphs and some wonderful funereal sculptures. The key word is respect. I avoid very recent burials unless they were relatives I wish to record. And I do not publish pictures in a way that may upset relatives. There is a real treasure trove of photographs in our cemeteries up and down the land and it is a key to a lot of our social history. In the Marble Church, Bodelwyddan, near me there are over sixty military graves many dying within days of each other and just after the first world war. You will find that some think they are as a result of a mutiny by Canadian solders who wanted to get home after the war. In actual fact they are a result of the Spanish Flu Pandemic that swept the world just after the War. These were wounded and recovering solders who died of flu before they could get home.

Agree with Andy. From my understanding of the Christian faith death is in many ways a new dawn as you say. Don't know about other faiths.

Thank you for the replies guys!!

Yes I agree with respecting others. And it did become awkward taking pictures. I just tried to take in such a fashion where the graves nor the cemetery could be identified. And of course respecting the souls. Thats always a must even if im not taking pics.
