Donna Nook seal update

2 Attachment(s)
Anyone thinking of making the journey to Donna Nook. Several seal have arrived to give birth, but no seal pups as yet. there are also several hundreds on the water line.

Probably will be 2/3 weeks before it's worth the trip, but will keep WPF updated.

Thanks for the update.

I am planning to head up there on Wednesday with the kids for a day out seeing as they are on holiday at the moment. Can you get close enough to the seal to get a resonable photo? I have a 600mm lens.

Many thanks

Mitch

Thanks very much. That would be great if you don't mind.

Hi Mitch have just got back from Donna nook. There are plenty of people, but only 15 seals and they are more or less around the corner near the RAF base and as yet no pups.

So IMO it's not worth the journey as yet.

Thanks very much for having a look Harry. I will leave it as long as possible in the hope more arrive before the kids are back to school.

Went last weekend for the first time, and a few were up on the grass with pups most of which still had the cord attatched, so very young. Got some great shots, but how can you fail with faces like that looking at you?

Pleased it worked out ok for you.

I went there two weeks ago and got several pics of a seal giving birth, but at that time they where still a couple of hundred yards away.

I got back from there about 3 hours ago. I had a great, but long day. That sand bank is a really long way out!!!!

Here is a link to a few shots I took if anyone is interested:
