WPF Monthly Photo Competitons
Due to the success of the WPF opening photo contest we have decided to hold future monthly photo competitions.
A competition will be open throughout a calendar month starting February 2006. A theme will be announced on the first of a month for uploading into the competition entries category in the gallery. At the end of a calendar month entries will go into a poll for voting for two weeks when a winner will be announced and transferred into the competition winners category. At the end of a year all competition winners will be entered into a poll for the photo of the year contest, held in January. One entry per member, photo must have been taken by a member but there is no time restriction on when the photo was taken. In the event of an overwhelming number of entries Moderators and Admin will decide on a final short list, in this event any Moderators or Admin who entered the competition shall remove their own entry. |
Has a winning entry been chosen from the opening Comp?.

Yes, Crafty by Tom Charles was voted by members as the winning entry to the initial competition.
Check out the gallery at the bottom for the competition winners catagory. Well done Tom! |

The rules seem fair.

If the entries are as good as last time I am looking forward to it - so many great photos.
I thought the numbers of votes cast considering the soaring membership was a bit disappointing though. I think the entrants deserve better support. |
well if you are going to have one you should announce it soon as to the subject...seems it takes so long for anyone to vote around here it will be april before you have any good amount of votes...the last contest was good but poor on the voting end...

It would be nice to know what the next competition is going to be as early as possible. Sometimes some of us are restricted in what we can do due to weather or distance and the more leeway in time that we get the easier it is for us.
