Photoshop Layers
 

Hi there - got a book just before Christmas called
"Layers: The complete Guide to Photoshop's most powerful feature" by Matt Kloskowski ISBN : 10: 0-321-53416-6 Published by Peachpit Press.
It cover Mac & PC from CS2 upwards.
Well laid out, easy to read and very clear in step by step explanations and examples. Recommended.

Is it only about the full version of Photoshop or does it properly cover Elements too?

Hi Mike, do you know that you can make layers in Elements? Works in Elements 6 think most other versions. If you want to know how please ask.

Thanks for the replies Andy and Arthur. Yes, I know Elements has Layers but I have never really got my head round it properly. Poor old grey cells ain't what they used to be and that may not be saying much!

One of the differences between Elements and CS is that I believe that Elements does not support Layer Masks from what I have read.

Correct Roy. There are work arounds apparently but they seem long winded and complicated.

Your right but I will post a Layer Mask work around in Digital Darkroom. Hope its not as complicated as you think and will be of help to Elements users.
