nikon sb28 broken hotshoe

well peaved off to put it lightly........just recieved my second wireless reciever and decided to have a little play around. Not having yet recieved the light stands, decided to balance one of the flashes on a speaker.......BAD MOVE. As soon as i turned round to position the second light i heard a crash. The flash had hit the floor spewing batteries and plastic from the hotshoe, luckily the flash still works but the hotshoe is knackered. Brilliant so now i've had to order a new hotshoe from the usa to fix it.

That will teach me to be impatient.

has anyone done this repair i have a guide and it says its easy.......watch this space...lol

Lee, be very, very careful indeed. I wouldn't attempt this unless I really knew what I was doing. Flashguns have components that are charged up to very high voltages. They can do a lot of damage to you. You can do yourself some serious damage with the internals of a flashgun. I'd get the bits together and take them to a repairer.
