Nikon Raw and settings
Just a quick question.....
When shooting raw, what settings are carried over into adobe camera raw. I know what you see on the view finder isn't what you get when you open the raw file. do the vivid etc settings carry over..? |
I'm no expert with ACR Lee, I use Capture One myself, but I'd expect the settings to get carried over. The benefit is, you can then change them in ACR if you decide you prefer something different.

Thank you duncan i did think they should carry over as I couldn't see the point in them if you only could use them in jpeg.
My other point was that the raw preview you see on camera isn't what you get when you open the file one ACR all the desired setting have to be applied then, like colour saturation, sharpening etc.....is this correct? |

To get a truer representation of the raw I use a customised picture style which has reduced sharpening, saturation and contrast - that way what I see in the Camera is very near to what I see when I open the Raw. |
Do you set that custom style up within camera roy?

Thanks roy have to look into that! I have heard something about custom settings in nikon, maybe one of the nikon guys like andy or robksi can help with this.

You don't say which Nikon camera you have, however if you log on to the Nikonians website they have produced custon functions guides to nearly all Nikon DSLR's.
Try the following web link for a start. http://www.nikoscope.com/pages/resul...re&startSearch= nirofo. |
