Colour change in gallery
 

There appears to be a problem with colour rendition in the Gallery ( A problem I brought up once before.)

I've just uploaded a flower photo of an Easter Cacti. When veiwed as normal gallery size it appears grossly over saturated, but clicking on image for larger size the colour rendition looks perfect.

My monitor is a wide Gamut HP 24" and calibrated with a Spyder.

I would be interested in how other members see this image.

I've just looked and cannot see any difference in the colour on those two links, what browser are you using?

Thanks for replying, I'm using Firefox 11 on W7 64bit image processed in CS6 and as I said previously I use a calibrated monnitor.

I'm seeing a major difference. If the photo in question does not look overcooked to other members, then I guess it's not a problem.

The colouring should be pink through to almost white at the centre. The smaller version looks quite red when veiwed on my monitor. Also the stamens? are actually yellowish on the larger version, but quite red on the smaller version

I've not used Firefox but have read that the are issues with colour management on it sothat might be part of the issue. I was viewing using Safari and could not see any difference between the two version, I will check on other browsers later when on another machine.

I don't see any colour difference either - with Google Chrome.

Also using Google Chrome on a 17" laptop and colour looks the same.

This is very strange, using "ColorPic" with the eye dropper on the tiny red stip inside the large water drop I get the following info.

Small image R239-G76-B193
Large image R154-G51-B123
As you can see from these figures I'm seeing a major difference.

It definitely sounds like an issue with the colour management on your browser, might be worth trying a different browser and seeing ow they look on your computer.

Will try IE and Chrome and report back.

Interesting. I'm using Firefox 11 as well and can see definite differences... but if anything I would say that the enlarged image is more saturated on my screen than the smaller version (I also calibrate with a spyder)

In IE 9 both images look the same.

One thing I have noticed - using the firefox add on 'FxIF' for the smaller images reports: -

so clearly something is different :confused: & maybe the forum resizing software is changing the colours

Downloading both images & viewing in photoshop, I have resampled the larger image to 1025 x 643 (the size of the smaller image) & then samples the pixel @ 200/310

From the smaller image I get RGB 169/4/34
& from the larger RGB 177/4/34

so maybe Firefox is actually rendering the differences correctly & other browsers are not!
