Well done Rob, a well deserved win.

And thank you Clive for taking the time to compile this. :D

Thanks everybody I must admit that was totally unexpected.
When I posted it back in June I could not believe the attention it attracted. An element of luck as I tracked it to this grass stem and got the camera set up as it slowly rotated I saw the potential with the strong back lighting.
To be honest it very nearly did not get posted. My old design 300 f4 let me down by flaring the backlit edges of the wings. I was hoping for a sharper, brighter and more defined edge. Hopefully my new design lens will perform better under such conditions.
Despite my own critique, I am grateful for your votes.
I hope my wildlife photographs have brought some enjoyment to the forum. A small reward for my madness and passion for tracking these little beauties through the long grass fields.

Those are five outstanding photos covering very different subjects and styles of photography. I think that they are a great advert for this forum. Congrats to Rob for photo of the year, it is a cracker.

As a mod I want to say thank you to the photographers who made the top five and all the others who post regularly in the gallery - without all of your photos this forum would not be the place it is.

Good job organising this POTY Clive, definitely worth doing. A fine selection of shots and a good revival of interest.
