Formal Photography Courses
Talking to a lady friend the other week I discovered her father had done a distance learning course on Photography. I am quite interested in the idea since Graduating from the OU (Open University) I have sought activities for the mind and body rather than mind alone with OU. I have seen AP's diploma scheme but it seems more of a brainwashing exercise for Jessops. Does anyone have any thoughts on this subject, unfortunately the OU do not seem to provide a degree in photography.

I was looking at the course list sent out by my local adult education college in September. I was seriously looking at doing a course in digital photography and trying to learn about the basics of image manipulation.
There were no courses available in these sorts of areas in the evenings. It would appear that if you wer unemployed or retired there was plenty of choice for daytime courses, but nothing if you were in work. It's sill worth looking at the kind of stuff your local adult education service offers, I know that it varies hugely from local council to local council. Duncan |
Try the FSC, I have been looking to do a Manipulation course for Photoshop, and a basic photography course. The FSC do weekend courses Friday pm till Sunday, either residential or non-residential. The prices are really reasonable and if you do the non-residential course it includes all meals and facilities as well. I am hoping to book a course later in the year. If I knew how to include a web link I could have put one here.
