I've been thinking!! If you have a non-DG sigma lens and stick a DG teleconverter behind it, surely you have the equivilant of a DG lens... the DG versions no more than a coating on the first element...

A teleconverter isn't going to make your shots...
A teleconverter isn't going to make your shots sharper, that's for sure. Generally you need to stop down from f5.6 to get the best results... and that's on top of the f-stop of light you've lost...
