Please comment

Hi Matty-happy New Year to you.
Firstly I think that with a new camera you should spend some time getting used to it, possibly using program mode for a while-you can still alter speed/aperture in...

I take your point but there are lots of people who even still run Windows XP as an operating system. I suppose I'll have to put it on the other half's Windows 7 computer! I must be one of the few...

Nikon D300 ED lens

I'm slightly confused-are you referring to the Nikon 300mm ED lens or a Nikon D300 camera and 18-200 lens? Either way, the 300mm lens is a lovely bit of kit and you wouldn't go wrong with the D300...

I've cured non-functioning electronics before by putting them for an hour in the freezer and it usually works but I didn't think that would remove dirt! Having said this, I tried the freezer job with...

No I've already tried this. I seem to have "cured" the problem by hitting the side of the camera with the flat of my hand-a test shot of a blank wall doesn't show the mark any more.Probably not the...

Canon SX30iS

My Canon SX30iS appears to have some dirt on its sensor, which can be seen on a computer screen and on prints. As it's not a DSLR I can't remove the lens to clean it. Has anyone got any ideas about...

Sad situation. I've been looking today at Kodak 35mm Film cameras-had a Retinette 1A as a first "proper" camera in the early 60s. I'm tempted to buy one to add to my small collection of old...
