That second image is absolutely fantabulous:). I have seen tremendous results using focus stacking and though I have mixed feelings about using it, I am amazed at the results of stacking done well....

Harry: The vignetting is usually a result of the reversed lens not being fast enough or as a result of not being opened up all the way. I am afraid f2.8 isn't a fast enough 50 to get the aperture...

Make every move slowly and try to avoid eye contact when possible... I usually spot them out of the corner of my eye and then slowly bring the camera up and slowly inch the camera lens towards them...
