As you say remote capture as many benefits, but the only reason I used it in this case, is because I haven't got around to modifying my remotes to work on the 10D as well as the 300D....

I always make two copies of my files, one remains in it's original state which is Raw.

Then unlike Stephen I nearly always use the PC. Have been formatting my cards this way for almost 6 years....

In my case the laptop will remain at my hotel where I can edit my raw files, and and my 20Gb x drive will be in my camera bag, which is probably the best compromise.
