Forget low light, try focusing on fog, or a clear blue sky, my D400 does, my mates Nikon............um.............dosen't!

I agree with Miketoll, ellements 5 had raw and a visit to adobe ebsite will give you a link to download the new patch, make sure you follow instruction though! i did and it worked!

Sigma do a great 28mm~300mm lens that would cover quite a lot of what you want to photograph, its not too slow either. I use a sigma 28~70 f2.8 as a prime lens on my canon 400d and find it pin sharp

I find the pano tool in elements 5 works well for...

I find the pano tool in elements 5 works well for me - having the added advantage of all the other elements tweeks too
